Little India

After visiting the bright lights of the Marina, we went for the total contrast of Little India, just two metrostops away. All streets were decorated because of some kind of Indian festivity: Deepavali. The streets were still crowded (11 pm), and there were brightly coloured stalls selling all kind of Indian kitsch. This is a corner in Douglas street; evening lit grocery stores. We had some delicious Indian dinner shortly after.

That would have been Dussera (or Navarathri, the festival of nine nights, as it is known in Tamilnadu). Diwali/Deepavali (the festival of lights) is in the fourth week of this month.
Nice sketch; captures the lighting well.

I love your night scenes, Rene, so full of atmosphere you feel present.

I can tell you, drawing night scenes is not the comfort zone for drawing. I was lucky it turned out OK.

De laatste posts van Singapore zijn kleurrijke pareltjes Rene! Vind de combinatie van (diep) donker en licht en de kleurkeuze daarbij bijzonder geslaagd!

Bedankt Rodney.
