Visé lock

The harbour of Visé Belgium, a boat entering the lock to the canal. Painted on location.
I tried different paper (seawhite brighton), but it did not work out. Then I tried to improve the green foilage, and it became a total misery. Just to show some paintings can never be salvaged.

misschien was het je dag niet, of was het papier echt niks. ik ben zelf niet te spreken over de nieuwe blokken van Fabriano, en heb nog niks gevonden als vervanging van het oude (wat kennelijk uit de handel is)

Vind je het echt zo goed, nico. Ikzelf stoor me erg aan het lelijke groen.
Ja liz, op een bepaald moment wen je zo aan een soort papier, dat de kleinste afwijking meteen stoort. Ik heb geen ervaring met fabriano, gebruik moleskine, canson of hahnemuhle. Brighton was niks.

Yes, I can see that this is not up to your usual standards. But you have managed to convey that the entry to the lock is pretty interesting.
