Marsha deceased at 18.

Marsha, our beloved cat, died this afternoon. She was 18 years old, a respectable age for a cat.
She was a real part of our house, for my (adult) children she has been part of the family as long as they can remember.
She had a very active life: our big garden was her unending joy.
But the last two weeks she was only a shadow of her former being: she didn't eat, didn't mow and didn't clean herself anymore. And her movements were very stiff. Yesterday, when I made this picture, she could only stare out of the windows for a few minutes before she dozed away exhausted.
Mart en Rianne dropped by to say farewell.

She will be missed.
The birds won't.

I am so sorry.
And thank you very much that you did not disturb her by the visits to veterinary and treatments.
I did, with my cat, and still so sorry about my activity.
Now Marsha is at the rainbow.

Thanks Irina for your support. She was such a dear cat.
Cats are special, you probably know if you had one yourself. Do you have one now?

My cat was half-human, I think you understand what I mean. He died in 2010 and it was such pain, I decided no more cats in the house. So now I am cat-free.

Despite your sorrow, Rene, I am certain you provided her with a very good life. She must have been a very happy cat! My heart goes out to you.

Thanks Miu. She had a large arden to herself, her neverending joy. We miss her.
