France is two hours by car, Paris is four.<br />Berlin about 7 hours. But it took 14 hours to drive back home by bus due to several hour long traffic jams. Europeans are lucky in being able to travel to a variety of regions that are very different in a relatively short distance. In North America, you can travel over 1000 km and still be in roughly the same environment.
