Painted this morning, Sander, in a life model session.
40x70cm, acrylic. Took me about an hour to make.

Nice painting. I do a lot of live model sketching and find that it helps with the skills of observation and use of negative space. The longest poses that we do are 30 minutes, so we have to work fast. I don't post them because a lot of my 'fans' are not comfortable with nudes on my site and I have plenty other sketches to post. Regarding your painting, there are just two things I noticed- the left leg needs to be adjusted to work with the left arm, etc., and the shading on the face near the ear needs to be darkened. But its a nice rendering of your model.

Yes Michael, that is well observed. I noticed both issues as well, but we had to leave the atelier just a little too early. The objective of the exercise was to paint the form using only earth colours (raw umber, burnt sienna and ochre with white. Maybe a little olive green to grey down the brightness).
