The last of my sketches of New York: a view somewhere in Chinatown towards a watertower. I tried to retrace my steps, maybe this could be Pell street?
Een tekening in een straatje ergens in Chinatown, New York.
Time to draw something else than New York.

Central park New York. Dead tired after walking the streets to see the sights. 33 degrees C. Funny: the squirrels, they were very free and ate out of hands.
In new York there was only one newsitem: swine flu (mexican flu). Here an anchor woman presenting a newsitem in front of the Department of health and sanitation. Below a sketch of 8th avenue, while waiting for the Harlem-Gospeltour.
Still day 1 in New York, Sunday april 26th. I just had the opportunity to sketch while Gertie was sleeping. The Flatiron buliding on 5th avenue and Broadway, once the first and highers skyscraper of New York. You can tell I still had some jetlag, the drawing is not straight. Below a sketch of watertanks on the roofs of W25th street.
New York, we arrived at JFK around 13.00, at the hotel about 15.30. My wife, Gertie, was sick from turbulence and jetlag and took a nap. So I took the opportunity to make some sketches in the park around the corner, Madison square. The Empire state building in all it's glory. It was a first time visit to New York, and this was surely one of the most impressive images I've ever seen.
