L' Epicerie

Last week, business trip to Tarbes, South of France. My favourite restaurant there: l'Epicerie. The sky looks too dark, but that was reality, I painted it at 7.00 AM, and it just became light. In summer the little square is filled with tables. Tarbes, Frankrijk, mijn favoriete restaurant. In de zomer is het pleintje vol met tafeltjes; nog even geduld.

Mooi en sfeervol werk René. Het ontluikende gebladerte heb je ook mooi gevangen.

Om eerlijk te zijn: in werkelijkheid was het minder groen. Wishfull drawing.

Lovely spot, Rene. Great reminder that summer is coming, and eating out of doors is a favorite thing to do.

So true--- in fact, after a very warm and sunny weekend, we woke up and it was snowing this morning in southern Germany!

Great capture!

Thanks Pascal, I painted most of the colours on site, with a Koi waterbrush and a small tin of van Gogh watercolours (12pc). At home I added and strengthened some colours and lines. The problem was that the light changed quickly, it just after sunrise, I think that's why it looks a bit unbalanced.
