Haydock, UK

Last week I had a trip to England again. It was depressing weather: wind, cold, rain. We had a different hotel, in Haydock, halfway Liverpool and Manchester. Not a lively town. I had to shelter under the bridge to make this sketch. Haydock, Engeland, afgelopen week. Het weer was net zo depressief als de schetsen er uitzien.

Fantastic work. I'm glad you were forced to draw under the bridge, because the composition is great.

Thanks Rob.
Actually I did not like the drawings a bit, probably reminded me too much of the depressing weather over there.

This is so charming. You make quite an ordinary scene into something special, Rene. You were in England too early. The UK is enjoying sunshine right now!

Thanks, Gillian. I know that England is beautiful in the brilliant sun of early spring, but that's hard to remember after grey days like these.
