Each morning, starting at 9.30, we had to make sketches and exercises to get the feeling for the subject and "style".
These are a few of the sketches of the first day, the "realist" phase.
In the end I made a painted version of the bottom sketch, but I find this drawing to be far better than the resulting painting (which I will not show here).

Mooie compositie, heel evenwichtig en spannend tegelijk. Bij een schilderij heb je wellicht te veel tijd om na te denken, wat in je nadeel werkt.
Snel ben je wellicht het beste.
Haha, grappig dat je dat zegt. Toen ik aan de schildersweek begon kreeg ik van de cursusleidster een persoonlijk motto mee "Een iets lager tempo kan tot veel schilderswijsheid leiden..."
