San Wah is a little supermarket in Maastricht selling Asian products, located just around the corner of our office. I often get my green tea and Soy sauce from there.
Each morning they bring out these two mean and heavy chinese lions, they have to guard the entrance.
I wanted to draw something today, this was close enough for a quick lunchtime sketch.
The temperature was still okay: 9 degrees here in the south. However, up in the north of the Netherlands they have severe ice and snow problems with minus 10 degrees in Groningen. Unusual for such a small country like ours....

This reminds me of a time when I was in Hong Kong and saw Chinese lions next to British lions! It would have made an interesting sketch.
Regarding the weather, l saw a news video of people skating in the streets of northern Holland! Unique weather patterns.
the question would be: which of the two lions looks the most menacing.....
We had (and still have) no frost at all, very strange weather.
