Subterranian landscape

Just started drawing on a lazy Sunday evening.
First doodling around, then starting drawing with a fineliner, inventing the drawing on the go. Later washing it out with watercolour and brown ink, also using the bleeding of the (not so waterproof) red fineliner.

Here you see the original drawing, before washing it out.

A good sketch. Sometimes doodling allows us to slow down and think more creatively. The colour wash provides a nice tones but it doesn't look subterranean to me - I would have expected it to be darker. It looks like a futuristic scene from NYC.

Thank you Miatagirl.
Michael, I called it subterranean, but I rather wanted to convey the atmosphere of the caverns and sewers of the lowest levels of Gotham city. And yes, I should have made it a bit darker, I received the same suggestion on Facebook. But I used a variety of materials, including ink, fineliners, watercolour and even acrylic ink. The paper does not take new layers of paint well anymore, don't want to spoil the drawing now.

Piranesi and Escher melted together..... very atmospheric image!

Thanks Ludek. I like the Escher idea, not intended by me, but I see your point.

I have been away from my computer since the beginning of the year almost, but just had to see what you were doing, and I am so impressed with all of the variety of artworks and your continued progress. This was one of my favorites.
