Fès mosaics

Next stop: Fès. We visited a ceramics workshop, just outside town, where they made tajines (earthen cooking gear) with beautiful and intricate Moorish decorations.
And a mosaic worker, cutting miniscule fitting parts on a circular plate. I managed to make this sketch in maybe 10 minutes, as long as the guide would allow me.
The artisan (his name was Mohammed) liked my drawing a lot.

Looks like a very interesting and successful trip. In a little while, I'll be in Andalucia; your posts certainly make it tempting to arrange a side trip to Morocco.

Morocco is a great country, but Spain (and certainly Andalucia) is at least equally interesting. Sometimes it's better to enjoy a region decently than stacking up experiences. Anyway, don't forget to keep your pencils ready!
